SOS Tutoring is a small learning center in West Courtenay located near Lake Trail Middle School, Puntledge Elementary School and Arden Elementary School.  Our center is owned and operated by Karin and Neil Holm.  Karin is a Certified Orton-Gillingham Therapeutic Practitioner and B.C. Certified Special Education Teacher who has been recently certified by the International Dyslexia Association. She is passionate about working with children who have neuro-diversity or learning differences.  SOS Tutoring has Practitioners of the Orton-Gillingham Approach, Language Arts specialists, along with, tutors who teach and support students in the sciences and math.

Neil has spent his career teaching at the high school and college level.  He recently retired from North Island College’s Department of Accessible Learning to join his wife Karin at SOS Tutoring.  Neil acts as administrator and teacher at SOS Tutoring.  His passions are teaching students to read and supporting students in their high school courses.  In his free time he runs as a masters runner at the national level, spends time skiing with his family in the winter and boating in the summer.
